Roasted gram/ Pottukadai is a wealthy source of protein and is often recommended to keep hunger pangs at bay. It is a healthy alternative to store-bought packaged snacks and while being healthy. It has roasted cashew in a small amount and a Ghee that add a great flavour or to the Maa ladoo.
Ingredients:
Roasted gram/Fried gram dal/Pottukadalai – 1 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Cardamom seed - 1 - 2 nos
Melted ghee – 2 to 2.5 tbsp
Cashews - 4 nos ( Break into pieces)
Steps for making Maa ladoo
- First powder pottukadalai to a fine powder.
- Add sugar with Elachi to a fine powder. Sieve pottukadalai to remove any unground/ coarse things from it.
- Heat ghee, fry cashew nuts until golden in colour. Place powdered pottukadalai, sugar in a mixing bowl, add the ghee with cashews to it and mix well.
- Properly mix the constituents then add 1 or 2 tsp of ghee more and shape it.
